This might be coming to your state so beware. I just found out about this. I haven't played poker since January but I decided that I wanted to play a little bit this weekend so Thursday I tried to login to ACR and my account is banned. I emailed support and they explained that Louisiana has banned all of our accounts.
I found this info on a google search.

These sites:
  • americascardroom.eu
  • betonline.ag
  • betus.com.pa
  • betwhale.ag
  • bovada.lv
  • chumbacasino.com
  • ignitioncasino.eu
  • lasatlantis.com
  • mybookie.ag
  • slotsandcasino.ag

These sites have been banned because they offer sports betting and online casino games.
So, they have essentially thrown the baby out with the bath water. Even though Poker doesn't fall under casino games Louisiana/Mississippi has outright banned those sites.

Poker has been banned in the US since 2006 with the UIGEA , and they very nicely snuck in another anti poker

law in their big ugly bill this year, people claim they didn't even know it was in there, ... who votes for a bill when

they don't know what's in it... anyway it always goes back to money, there are a ton of casinos in both of those states...

I live in a state with a casino literally on every corner even in very small towns there's gambling places,

yet online poker or gambling is illegal here, they will literally block you from registering,

they aren't anti gambling really..... they just want your business to go directly to them👎

Well yeah it’s about them forcing you to go to their establishments as opposed to going online. It’s legislative greed!

Blocking people from global access is incredibly stupid and lacks empathy for those who enjoy and are game-minded! It's a bizarre and utterly stupid impediment!

The poker players there need to build a facebook group or find a way to bring attention to this issue as a larger group and contact their senators and lawmakers. Politicians might pay attention to a larger group or if they get a multitude of messages on the same topic. It's unbelievable how many freedoms are being removed and there is so little push back.

those states are serious Republican christian states that have been trying to kill sesame street for the last 40 years because it doesn't appeal to their "view of life" while not considering how much of a benefit that CPB is to the countless millions of Americans that depend on the shows to inform and entertain people .

So yeah, Im not surprised.

Sorry but you couldnt pay me to live in those states.

Went into a restaurant while passing thru one of those states awhile back and while in line, one of the waitresses asked me something and i couldn't understand them or infer what they were talking about.

Im holding up the line and they're asking me something like 3 or 4 times and another one comes over and says "do you want a drink with that?" lol.

the other one didnt have a cup or near the drink machines and Im thinking like they're asking about charging me for something or they want me to pay or something.

I felt so bad for the kid.

And it wasnt Spanish or French so I had no clue what they were talking about.

Humid, with nasty storms that knock out power type of weather and a few other issues there.

so yeah, those places aren't for me.

Just add the OPs issue to the list.

Well then they should legalized online poker then right? I would understand if they had regulated poker sites that wanted to protect their business, but who are they really protecting is the land based casinos I guess

Brick and mortar casinos are going to eliminate their untaxed competition.

It'll be nice if pokerstars is allowed to operate here even if its only to play against other Louisiana players. That's better than nothing which is what we have now!

I'm pretty sure this new law is about the sports betting aspect of these online casinos. That's why I said that this might be coming to other states in my original post. They don't want people betting on games without being monitored via Draft Kings, Fanduel, Caeser's, etc. etc.

Louisiana is one of the few states in the United States that explicitly makes online gambling illegal, with specific penalties for violators. Some see this as protectionism toward land-based gambling or lottery providers rather than a strong moral stance.Missouri has a 1994 law that prohibits casino-style gambling.

Seems like they banned them because they're all casinos too.

But Louisiana has many B&M casinos that operate and they don't seem to care too much about the morality of that.

I hope not. Banning online poker seems so ridiculous to me. imo, they could put a small tax (Very small) on Withdrawals or something instead... but open it up to play with R.O.W. sites.

I think its very sad they do this. I am very pessimistic for online poker ever being regulated in the USA. Hell our casinos barely have poker tournaments now unless you want to pay in the $500.00 weekly.

I don't believe poker will ever die and i will play where i can to the end. I also hope i am wrong about the end is coming for online for many of us.

The U.S. flag flies over the land of the free and the home of the brave. But, oh, btw, no poker while you are enjoying your freedom in Louisiana.

Where is the much-touted freedom in the US? It hasn't been there for a long time.
