A member of the NBA Hall of Fame, current coach Chauncey Billups is among those charged in an illegal poker operation tied to the Mafia. Other athletes have received equally serious charges. The profits from the alleged poker scheme ran up to $7 million.
We often think about bots, but the age of technology generates a lot of things. Sports betting, wire fraud conspiracy, shuffling machines, X-ray technology to read cards facing down on the table.

The world has become so miserable that nothing surprises you anymore! We end up getting used to the unusual — just like lies become believable after being repeated many times!"

This doesn't look good at all for both Chauncey Billups and Terry Rosier.this puts the integrity of the game in question and also let you think twice about whether sports betting is rigged or not

In sport and gambling there are always people looking to earn illegal money, is extremely difficult to eliminate that, but that should be the goal.

I can't say anything about the NBA because I don't know the subject, but it is known that there is a mafia in the sport with the issue of sports betting, leading teams that lose to the last in the table by a landslide, not even the referee's time additions for each period coincide, how can it be that they add 1 minute after a player was lying on the ground for 3 minutes in addition to many offsides? and I can continue naming more cases MK, it is enough for a guy to put a lot of money on one or two players knowing that he will have a lot of profit

Which disgusts me, angers me, hates me because for us Argentinians, football is not a simple sport. For us, our club identifies us and we do not profit from the passion of the people, from the feelings of the people.

to think i used to think chauncey billups was one of the stand up guys in the nba when the pistons were good, and to throw all his accomplishments away for money and cheating, what a shame. he probably didnt have a good financial advisor and clearly needed a way to cheat and try to recover his financial mistakes but now look where that got him...fools!

Thats why I dont play high stake games.People do cheat

Really? I don't because I'm not good enough at the game. I wouldn't even regularly play at an avg. buyin of $50... because I can't beat those games. (maybe one day)

Wild story 😳 — seeing a Hall of Famer like Chauncey Billups tied to a $7M illegal poker ring with Mafia connections is next-level. When operations involve athletes, rigged machines, and even X-ray card tech 🃏🔍, it shows cheating has gotten way more sophisticated than just bots.

This case is a reminder that the biggest threats to poker aren’t only online 🤖 — sometimes it’s full-on criminal networks using advanced tools and insider access. When major athletes get caught up in it, you know it was serious 💰⚠️. Will be interesting to see how deep this investigation goes.

Criminal networks are so deep, we see only the tip of the iceberg. It's unthinkable that such a successful athlete as Chauncey Billups became involved in serious proceedings under investigation. Bots are nothing compared to similar frauds. At the moment, popular athletes have turned to a lawyer who already has experience in such cases.

Haha, yeah — criminal networks aren’t just bots with attitude, apparently they have NBA “celebs” to lure people into poker rooms like it’s a celebrity meet-and-greet. According to prosecutors, Billups was one of the so-called “Face Cards” in a rigged game run by mafia families, using weird tech like altered shuffling machines, X-ray tables, and contact lenses to cheat. (See the DOJ’s indictment: https://www.justice.gov/usao-edny/p...ociates-organized-crime-families-and-national) His lawyer, of course, says he’d never risk his Hall of Fame rep just to help a card game scam — “he would not jeopardize … his freedom,” he said in a statement.
