Jordan Cristos, 38 year-old poker pro from California, has been sentenced fourteen to forty-eight months in prison for threatening World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska and a family court judge overseeing his custody hearing. According to court documents, Cristos was upset due to the termination of his WPT online poker account and demanded reinstatement if he deleted negative social media posts.

“You are effectively sentencing all of your staff to an Open season,” Cristos wrote in a January 2025 email. “If you do not accept my offer, then you are going to meet the legend and the stalker in more ways than one.”

To top off his troubles, Cristos is reportedly banned from several Las Vegas poker rooms — including the Wynn, Bellagio, and Aria — for excessive tanking and threatening behaviour.

Cristos is due back in court on November 18 to face charges of coercion with the use of a deadly weapon and communicating intent to commit a violent act.

I have one question...did this guy ever have a real job, or has his whole life been as a poker pro? I ask because the way money is thrown around by these young players who never got the chance to experience long hours of physical labour and the pain of being overworked, have not had the chance to develop a proper healthy respect for money...when everything comes too easy, there is no perspective as to what real life is...I'm not just youth bashing...Lord knows there are plenty of individuals in their 50s to 70s, like car company owners or Heads of State who are poor examples of humans incapable of respect for others.

Sounds like a guy who had a few bad beats too much. Tried to threaten and scare people but in the end its now him who has to face consequences. Way to look very dumb imo.
