Pokerstars suffers second server outage during recent WCOOP

For any of you fellow Cardschat members who were watching a favourite streamer like me recently during the WCOOP main event, you may have seen the server crash.

Daniel Smyth from CC News gives us the lowdown on what happened as a result of yet another DDos online attack - article as below.

I was watching Spraggy in full flow and going well when this all occurred and with it being early onto the evenings play, it was a disappointment for many to see and experience - especially the players.

I am pleased to report that November 5th sees the reschedule for this great online event.

We can only guess the motives of possible attackers. Extortion is one potential reason in my opinion but who knows - and PS would probably not even reveal it if that would be the case?

How sad for all areas these attacks.
Without a doubt, cyber terrorism exists and continues to work from the dark.
I want God to come to an end soon, so people who work online keep their jobs.

It is sad to see such a big site to collapse like this for second time in a few days. I see also lags and stucks. During the game when a hand changes the background changes to the preset for a second and goes back to my choice. It surely needs upgrade and a good refresh!

I have full confidence in PokerStars this stuff happens all the time that’s why security is vital my account was hacked and PokerStars protected my money 💰 and froze my account I got a email with full details I changed my password and I am more Careful and I use vpns.stars has been around from the start.

No probably, I also think PS would not reveal an attac to not please the attacers. So we will never know what really happened.

it's amazing that a company that earns hundreds of millions a year cannot resist primitive cyber attacks that were used 20 years ago

It has been reported as DDOS attack. Site is currently screwed right now...wondering if this is another one. I think I've been on for each one. What a nuissance.
Most likely they have had separate ransom requests. Don't pay? They block the site from logins and inundate the systeem with SYN flooding.

I signed out of the App and can't sign in again. The inscription "You are already logged in from another computer. To log in from this you need to log out from another" I log in from the same laptop, from the tablet and phone the same

I was able to sign in again in the meantime. 🤔

I think it's the competition. there is a lot of money in this business, and I think that someone is buying a cyber attack on a competitor. the goal in this case is absolutely logical. I'm not blaming anyone, it's just my imagination and logic.
