Looking to get into poker again since the bill to legalize online poker in California was snuffed out a while back, which means no shot of Pokerstars coming back to California anytime soon. No reason to wait anymore.

Looking to start with a $100 deposit bankroll to slowly build upon. My preferred format is normal-paced MTT's, not turbo (I.E blinds don't rise quickly, so I can play a TAG style, wait for good hands and let everyone else donk themselves out), ideally in the 45-180 player range but SnG's are fine too. Would play at $2-$5 stakes max, probably start at $1 to feel out how soft the competition is first.

I believe your best options for online poker in California would be ACR (AmericasCardRoom) or Global Poker

GG poker best site for low stakes I wonder if US players can play gg poker

US resident playing on GG through VPN. Can I get in trouble other than potentially losing my funds?

Discussion

I've successfully cashed out, I'm paranoid of having any decent bankroll though.
Is there any legal issues if they catch on?
Also, why does GG make it so easy for Americans to play? There's a lot of non poker sites that detect VPN and won't let you in. Seems they don't actually care as long as everything seems on the up and up.

Any way to deposit to ACR with a Debit or Prepaid card? Rather not give my information to a crypto currency.

If you want to play low stakes SNG/MTT you have to play on ggpoker, it is the best room for every player who is starting out, when you play you will agree with me.

He can't play there and they don't offer the games he is looking for.

But nice attempt by u after only reading the thread title 🤟

Winning Poker Network (as already mentioned) is probably his best option.

Why can't U.S players play on GGPoker?

Because GG Poker does not operate in the USA.

From what I've heard, ACR doesn't either.

ACR Poker is a US-themed online poker site founded in 2001 and headquartered in San José, Costa Rica.

I'm not wrong, then.

They are not based in the us but they operate there with a few exceptions. I think Texas is an exception.

Anything else?

Operating there means they need to be headquartered there. I don't trust them otherwise.

That said, are there any real money poker sites that a Californian can play on that ARE headquartered in the US?

They are unregulated so probably not a place where u want to play anyway.

The sites that are allowed by government are stars and wsop.com as far as I'm aware. Maybe WSOP is headquartered in the US, idk.

So I basically have to wait another 5 years for Pokerstars to offer real money play in California then. If it ever happens at all.

Yes or u go with one of the many unregulated options and/or private App clubs (the second option is not recommended).

The specific game type u are looking for is basically dead and a thing from the past. Most sites that still offer similar games switched to on demand format.

MTT's and Sit-N-Gos are extinct now? Why?

I do not like cash games or turbo format. I'd be okay with something like the old Rush Poker from Full Tilt though.

I think it depends not on the poker room, but on the playing skills. if you play well it doesn't matter where you play😅

I generally play super tight, wait for big hands and then play them aggressively. Exception is if I get a hand with potential like 87s in a multi-way pot with 3-1 odds or better, then I'll usually limp and hope to connect big and stack someone.

I'm what you would call an "overfolder" though. In the past I would usually fold my way to the money and let everyone else donk themselves out. It works at micro-low stakes.

Mtt's are alive and well but the 45-180 man multitable sng-type u were asking for in the OP is not.

Glgl, I'm done now here ☺️👍

I am not sure why everyone her is incapable of answering this question. I have been playing at all USA sites for 20 years now.

Your #1 choice is going to be Bovada or Ignition. They are the same site. Plenty of small stakes SNG and MTT action there. Totally legit off-shore site that is not going anywhere and not going to take your money, they have been around forever.

#2 is going to be sportsbetting.ag or betonline.ag. Again, they are the same site. Plenty of small stakes action.

#3: ACR: most players, but not much sit n go action and the guys that do play are all day grinders

#4: Global poker: some small stakes sng action, easy to deposit there too.

Each of these sites is totally safe and legal to play on from California.

I don't know if I remember Bovada or Ignition, but I remember playing on another site once that ran two or three different cardrooms on the same network. It was Carbon Poker.
