I always see luckiy players going all in on nothing and winning in the end, but yesterday something like this happened to me also.
I have subscribed to the 500 bonus dollars freeroll on ultimatebe.com knowing that will only have about half an hour to play, because I had somewhere to go.
So, after some hands being played, I get pocket AA and decided to go all in. I get called and I lose all my chps, exept 50 (you start with 1500) because I won the sidepot . After this, I said to myself that there was no point in playing, so I went all in the next hand, prepared to leave. What happened was that for the next 4 hands I went all in and got about 3K chips. After 10 minutes I had to leave and left about 8K in the account to be blinded out.
When I came home I found myself around 60th place (I cand remember exactly) with 1.35 bonus $ in my account.
Talk about luck.

The same thing happend to me the other day. I had to take my son to Baseball practice, so I went all-in with 66 got 4 callers and knocked 'em all out. Next hand 55. 1 caller. He was gone too. Next hand AK. I lost it all to the chip leader against J7. My sons team won.

Over the Long Haul these player playing weak hands lose Money.

They might have a good day or even week and possibly a month but over their life time of poker they are way down in cash or for the new players like this that have got lucky. They will be if they don't get out now.

Sometimes luck is important ... you can't always play without the table helping you ...


But on the long run, luck just isn't enough ... you must have a strategy on every hand

Luck does help

Played in 3 Sit & Go's on Noble las night and saw maybe 1 facecard the whole night. Thought we were playing without Aces. Finally got dealt QQ and immediately pushed all-in, player to my left had AA ... Oh well

Luck plays a role in winning at poker but I agree with Sorcerer, you have to have a strategy. You have to know when to bet and when to lay them down, how much to bet and the pot odds. You also have to pay attention to how the other players play that way you know if being conservative or aggressive is the best approach.

i completely aggree. sometimes on pokerstars the bad beats get a little ridiculous. for example one time i had KQ...flop k q k... im all in...one caller.. hes got 55.. and turn and river.. 5... 5..

the exact same thing happened to me on poker stars. i went all in about 5 times in a row and ended up with a stack of about 10000, which put me in about 30th at the time (out of about 4000),. this was becasue i wanted to leave but i then decided to stay . but then later i flopped a fullhouse someone went all in and i called. he had pocket pair and then ended with 4 of a kind and knocked me out.
