I’ve been playing some of the Mystery Battle Royale tournaments on GG and I find them really fun. The format is unique and exciting, but I’m not sure how profitable it actually is.

With so many players involved, the variance feels extremely high, and in the end the prize pool doesn’t seem that big compared to the risk.

What do you think - is Mystery Battle Royale just for fun, or can it be a good grind long term?

Its a hyper turbo with relatively high rake and a lottery element, so probably difficult to beat in the long run.

I have played many tournaments, but it’s only worth it if you finish in the top three! For example, I won one with a $1 buy-in, and the prize was $4, plus whatever you earn when you eliminate a player!

A 18USD total buy-in to pay 6-7USD + very low bounties. Does not profitable in a long run

IMO for fun, definitely hard for grinding long term.
Could be also useful because of training purposes - you train short stack end game tournament play and you can get there quickly and relatively often, comparing to "normal" tournaments.

There are some people who play that format for profit and you need to be very very good.
Real profit and the necessary skills are probably in the 10$ and 25$ mystery battles.

I agree with others it's mostly for fun but it can be profitable..
