What protection software is recommended

I have been having problems at poker sites with my computer's adapter being disabled during a poker hand. Most of the time rebooting is the only solution. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there any protection software that can help with this problem?

How was disabled?
Which poker site did you play on?
Any weird message on the screen?
What kind of protection software are you using?
Do you have enabled firewall and anti virus?
What operating system are you running on your system?
etc...
