Hi all, returning to poker after a long time and trying to figure out what rooms to play on. I'm most interested in tournament style games and was previously really enjoying the SnGs on ACR, but unfortunately those are dead over there now. GGpoker has their 6man Spin and Gold and the Mystery Battle royale games which seem like they'll be similar, if not way higher variance maybe, so I am considering there. Anyone have recommendations? Bonus points if you know if the room is available in New Zealand 😁

SnGs on ACR are not dead. But its mostly a site for americans, so they only run, when americans like to play, which is something like lunch time to midnight in their time zone. So if you live in Asia, you will need to do the opposite and play from around midnight to around lunch time. If you have a 9-5 type job, maybe you can wake up early and play a few hours before going to work. But apart from that it will be weekends and holidays only.

If you want to be able to play any time, then PokerStars is the best option. They have 10-32 man On-Demand SnGs, that run pretty much 24 hours, and are like a small MTT with 5 places paying. If you are looking to make some money from poker (side hustle) and/or get practice for MTTs, these are definitely way better to play than the gambling oriented games on GG Poker.

I play on both sites, and the main reason, I also play on ACR Poker, is due to their SnG leaderboard. If you wager around $500 in a week on their On Demand SnGs, you get $50 back, which is basically a 100% rakeback in top of the regular reward program. So I literally get paid to play there, or at least I play for free. And this is why, I choose to live with the crappy software and lack of 24 hour activity.

As for MTTs all sites have them, so it does not really matter all that much, which site(s), you choose. GG Poker and PokerStars have the biggest selection, but if you are only playing like 1-3 games at a time, maybe thats not even all that important. So you can just choose the site(s), that gives you the best deal, has the best software etc. I think, people from New Zealand can play pretty much anywhere, they want.
