Saturday’s card should be a good one. Edgar vs Ortega is the fight I’m most looking forward to but Arlovski vs Struve could also be a very good fight. If Cyborg runs through Kunitskaya it’s going to be hard to find match ups for her but Russians are crazy and can take a lot of punishment so it could be an exciting war.

Erm... it's always been "hard" to find matchups for her, on account of women's 145 not being a real division.
I feel like a broken record and that I've said this a bunch of times before, but there just aren't enough world-class fighters at women's 145 to maintain a functioning division, let alone provide a challenge for a monster like Cyborg.
Let's start with the UFC itself: women's 145 is the only "division" they don't have rankings for, despite having a title for it: http://www.ufc.com/rankings?id=
Then you can look at independent rankings of fighters from all organisations, all over the world. Here's some:

You'll notice a few common threads there: Fightmatrix and Tapology both have Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie listed in their top five even though neither of them is actually a featherweight. Fightmatrix has to include "all fighters over 140 pounds" to make their list. Alexis Dufresne, who had a couple of the worst fights in UFC history and is objectively bad at fighting, is ranked. They all feature a lot of fighters with records like 5-5, 10-7, 9-6 and so on... which is a bad look for someone who's supposed to be at top fighter in their division, let alone one who fights in a "division" this soft.
It's nice they gave Cyborg a belt and all. I'm also really glad it resulted in Tonya Evinger (also not a featherweight) coming to the UFC. But they can't pretend this is a functioning division: they're just feeding Cyborg people to squash, and really that's all they can do.

Congrats on winning that Frankie vs Ortega bet. It was an impressive performance by Ortega, especially considering he beat Frankie by knockout.
On the other hand, Cyborg's bet, not even close.
She is a beast! As soon as Kunitskaya felt that first Cyborg's right, you could see it in her face: She had never felt that kind of power before.

UFC 223 has 2 very interesting title fights. Tony vs Khabib will be interesting to see if Tony can get up after he’s taken down because there is no question that he will be take down. Tony is such an unpredictable fighter that it makes it an exciting matchup vs Khabib who is very predictable. I have no idea who will in this but Tony at +200 is a very tempting bet that I will most likely give into. Rose vs Joanna is an interesting rematch because most people didn’t give Rose a shot in the fight. I think Rose will retain the title, she has all the confidence in the world right now and doesn’t seem like the type of fighter to get over confident.

If we make it to the night with both title fights still intact then I'm more excited for this event than I have been for any other one in ages. Big "if" given Tony and Khabib's injury and pullout histories though...

I'm waiting for the report that Ferguson broke his foot in training, or that Khabib fainted during the cut. I was hoping that FDFN (Ferguson Doesn't Fight Nurmagomedov) Day would come in late Winter this year and usher in Spring as it did last year. I guess I'll have to settle for a Spring FDFN Day this year like 2016, *sigh*. At least it's better than a lead in to Winter FDND Day like 2015. Are they using some kind of Lunar calendar?

Really looking forward to the Khabib vs Tony Ferguson fight. I think Khabib's grappling will be too much for Ferguson though. I don't think it will last five rounds. I think Joanna has a good shot at winning the rematch. Now that she got humbled in the first fight, maybe she'll come back stronger than ever! The other fights on the main card are really good too. We got Pettis vs Chiesa, they are both hungry for a win after coming off losses. I just hope no one gets injured

I think it is the most probable scenario that we do get to watch both fights at UFC 223. I'm guessing they are being a bit more careful in this camp, especially at these final stages, of not getting injured after everything that has happened.
And BTW, the whole card looks quite exciting, great fights in it. Quite a promising night of fights, can't wait.
On another note, did anyone watch the last UFC? Quite a performance from Volkov, impressive knockout considering the opponent. But I do have to say that I think Werdum got angry after a couple of punches landed by Volvok on the mat and went toe to toe on the feet against him, which cost him the fight (although Volkov was looking way better than him in the last couple of rounds anyway).

Careful not in the sense that he needs to work on takedown defense or be prepared to work all the submission possibilities from the bottom or other bad positions - no careful in the sense of "please for the love of all things, please don't get hurt before the fight":

And even if el cucuy (a Spanish term for idiot) doesn't do himself in, Khabib still has to make weight AND be able to stand.
There is no other fight in MMA that I would rather see than this one, but I wouldn't book a weekend in NYC to see it until the morning of the fight. :marchmell

I didn't know that's what "el cucuy" means. Just searched for it and found out that's another term for "el coco" like you posted, which is how I've always known it: el coco.
"Cucu" means crazy (at least where I live) and "cucú" is the bird that comes out of the clock at specific times, and also the singing of some birds.

That's pretty insane. Hopefully there's some visual trick (or another type of trick) behind those kicks to that steel pipe, and it's just a stunt to make him look that crazy and hype the fight some more.

UFC is like a TV show, every week almost a new event. Besides the other ones, Jungle Fight, Arena Fight and many others. It looks like a street fight with a payment. New fighters coming over every time, confusing also.
