However I'd rather see Bisping vs Souza. Let Souza get a chance at the belt. Then Rockhold can face Souza in Brazil. "See what I did there "

I don't think GSP looked bad last time he fought necessarily - I think he was just in a very close fight with Hendricks.

What I'm disappointed by with GSP though is the talk that he'd be keen to come back... to fight Michael Bisping. Where the hell does that idea come from? Does he think Bisping is more beatable than Lawler? Or whoever else is likely to hold the welterweight belt by the time he finally gets back in the cage?

Short version is yes it's still an outstanding card and yes it'll still do big business... but the UFC will have to spend a lot more on advertising to make it happen because of all the free media they won't get with Conor off the card.

As replacements go Lesnar is obviously a huge name and generated a big buzz of his own... but he won't be coming cheap, and he doesn't do anything like the kind of promo work that McGregor does.

The number of people who think they deserve a shot at his title (especially those who wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting a shot) seems to be growing by the day.

Hell, I saw comments from Tim Kennedy saying he wants a Bisping fight today! The same Tim Kennedy that's barely been in the octagon in the past few years. Yes he's got a win over Bisping from a few years back but still... then there's GSP, Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, Yoel Romero, and that's before you actually get to guys who might deserve a shot like Jacare, Rockhold or Weidman. It seems like half the roster between 170 and 205 thinks they can beat him.

Nobody's got any concrete info it seems.

As for what it'd mean for fans, probably very little - especially in the short term. All the rumours still seem to have Uncle Dana staying on (for better or worse) to run the show as the public face of the company. So all that's really likely to change is where the profits go behind the scenes.

If it were to happen there might be some structural changes to how the company does business going forward, things like fighter contracts and the like. But if what you care about is seeing people punching each other in the face in a cage then I don't think you'll see much difference.

I guess I didn't expect many changes initally from our point of view as fans but it'd be nice to see the fighters getting paid what they're worth considering what they're putting on the line every fight!

With regards to Bisping I'd just to see him defend the title in Manchester being from there myself! The dream would be against GSP of course!

Yeah I think whoever they line up for him, giving Bisping his next fight in front of a home crowd is absolutely what the UFC needs to do - they'd be nuts to waste the opportunity.

I'd be fine with seeing a Bisping vs Hendo rematch. Even though Hendo isn't the #1 contender. Bisping wants to avenge this loss, and regardless of the decision, it would be a good way to send Hendo into retirement.

I'd be OK with Bisping-Hendo - it makes zero sense from an intelligent matchmaking perspective (if you think that's important then he pretty much has to fight Jacare, or give Rockhold a rematch) but it at least has a story, serves a purpose and is kinda fun in a "yes they're old but anyone could win this" sort of way.

Mostly though I think this just shows what a mess the middleweight division is at the moment. I mean hell, heavyweight has a much clearer order of people who deserve title shots than middleweight right now... and it's never a good thing when heavyweight is more organised than you

I wouldn't call it disrespect when even his children didn't think he was going to beat Rockhold.

We all know how Bisping became a champion. He got a very controversial decision win over Anderson. Got a shot because Weidman was injured and landed some punches when Rockhold was not 100% focused. Good for him, but it's very likely he will lose next time he faces any top 5 contender. I'm pretty sure deep inside he knows that.

And answering your question I don't think people respect Stipe Miocic as well. Or respected Matt Serra. So all those one fight champions.

I disagree with his decision win over Silva being controversial - the near-stoppage at the end of the third round certainly had some controversy attached to it, but given that the fight continued I thought it was a pretty clear Bisping victory.

Agree 100% that he's an underdog against the top three in the division (Rockhold, Weidman, Jacare). There's guys further down the rankings I'd pick against him too (Whittaker, maybe Mousasi).

But y'know what? I'd pick Bisping over current-day Vitor Belfort, and Anderson Silva given how the first fight went. I suspect he'd be a favourite over Machida, who knows how a fight with someone like Uriah Hall would play out but he'd def be live.

My point was pretty much all the people who are calling him out (Hendo, Kennedy, Silva, even GSP) are people who wouldn't in a million years think they were worthy of calling out the middleweight champion if it was anyone other than Bisping. Does GSP come out saying he wants to fight Rockhold for the belt if he'd won? I wouldn't think so. Anywho, I just found it funny.

It's still an amazing card so I'll watch it, but it sucks that the main event is now a 3 round fight between Lesnar and Hunt. Not saying it's a bad fight. Just isn't what comes to mind as main event material for the biggest UFC card of all time.

Weird to say but UFC should probably be done with Jones. He's costing the UFC and his fellow fighters tons of money. Even Dana said this fight cancellation is financially devastating for DC.

I find it hard to sympathise with Jones now.

Even if he took something unknowingly which seems feasible - with the importance of this fight for Jones after everything he'd gone through he should've had the best team around him advising him to make sure these things absolutely 100% will not happen.

I was watching Demetrious Johnson's twitch stream early and he said this is exactly why he doesn't take any supplements of any kind whatsoever. Even something simple just because you dont know exactly what's in them, especially with USADA introducing so many new banned substences that the majority of fighters won't ever of heard about.

Either way I think the card is still stacked and im still excited for 200.

No doubt the card is still great but without Jones/DC it's no longer in the running for best lineup ever. My guess is that he probably cost himself and DC 5 million or so.

Edit: Well DC might not be so much at a loss since Dana is saying that he will still be fighting this weekend.

Yeah, I would assume so. He'll take a smallish hit, I would guess, just based on slightly fewer PPV buys but the number of people who would have brought it but now won't without Jones won't be great.

DC confirmed to fight Anderson Silva in a non-title fight, because LOL why not book one more stop on the "crushing Anderson Silva's legacy tour"?

I'm guessing this will be the only card in history with two five-round championship fights happening UNDER two three-round exhibition fights. EDIT: apparently DC-Silva will be third on the card, so I assume Tate-Nunes gets promoted to co-main.

In other news holy hell how about Eddie Alvarez! I was taking a loss on the card as a whole after Roy Nelson got rolled (had him SU and by decision) but then Alvarez gets the win to put me just back into profit...
