It became clear that the Knicks increased their pressure on the paint in the 4th game of the series, and Atlanta was helpless. There’s no doubt the Lakers play better at home, especially in the Postseason. Kevin Durant won’t be playing for the Rockets, and it’ll be very tough for Houston without him. I think the Lakers will confidently close out the series in the upcoming game. Bet? Absolutely!

Last bet lost. Yeah, I shouldn't bet on the Lakers since I'm rooting for them. It's hard for me to analyze them fairly, but I knew the 5th game of the series was a great opportunity, and it looked like it was going to happen. New bet: Denver Nuggets on the road will beat Minnesota Timberwolves by 6 points or more in the 6th game of the series. I agree with @BillyR23 here regarding Denver’s dominance in this series against Minnesota. I won’t add much to this prediction, since Billy has already noted that Minnesota is dealing with serious injury issues. I’m confident that Denver’s motivation is perhaps the highest ever in their Playoff history, as they now have an incredible opportunity to avenge that painful loss in the Playoffs in the 2023/2024 season. Bet? Sure!

It's just a tough break for the Wolves, I've mentioned that it could (maybe should) have been 4-0 for Minnesota already... but without Ant-Man (like I've said in a previous post- this is his team) and Donte DiVincenzo (everyone, including his coach, said that he's not just a starter but the soul of the team), this Series isn't the same and like I've expected it turned around and we've seen an easy W for Jokic & Co. in Game 5 (it's just another dynamic when especially the Joker can focus on offense and not care as much/put too much effort on the defensive end...); in gambling in general anything can happen, but like you've mentioned @john_entony this is an incredible opportunity for Denver to inflict some 'pain' to the Wolves and get another easy win here today(Ayo Dosunmu is questionable to play with a calf injury and Naz Reid also looked injured in Game 5... if they won't be able to perform close to their best- it will be another tough break for Minnesota)- this 2 teams don't like each other and considering the recent Playoff history it's (IMO) quite normal and also good for the competition* I wish we had more rivalries like this in NBA...

Last bet lost. To be honest, I don't know what Jamal Murray was playing at. Okay, I would understand if he were playing his rookie season, like, say, VJ Edgecombe in Philadelphia (who is completely failing offensively in the series against Boston). But this series has been terrible for the Canadian guard from Denver. Minnesota? I can’t say I saw them play a cohesive game. I’m sure they’ll be the weakest team in the 2nd round of these Playoffs, given all their injuries. New bet: Orlando Magic at home will beat Detroit Pistons in the 6th game of the series. This series is like a tennis match where each player plays their best on their own serve. There was only one “break” in this series, if we use tennis terminology. I’ll say it again: Orlando has played incredibly well at home, both during the regular season and continuing in the Postseason. Yes, Franz Wagner won’t play for the Magic, but the participation of Tobias Harris and Kevin Huerter is also in question for Detroit. Bet? Absolutely!

We can just do our best to pick good bets and/or bets where we think odds are way higher than it should- I know now that this was a value bet to pick Denver to advance to R2- the odds for the Nuggets to win G6 went even insanely down because 2 other new injuries! on Unibet it was @1.28 around 20 minutes before the game started* we've got @ 2.25 and in the end we pretty much needed this W in G6 that had odds just around @ 1.30- if this isn't a value bet, I don't know what other bet can be regarded as one...

Usually, I'd blame the team's superstar in this situations, but (IMO) Jokic played a great game on both ends considering he was in foul trouble from early in the game... nobody else showed up to help on the defensive end though, I won't talk about the terrible offense from some of the players- the defensive effort was insanely bad, you can't allow any team to have 19 offensive rebounds!!! *Denver was out-rebounded 50 to 33... I liked that Jokic didn't throw anyone under the bus in the post-game interview, but he did mention that in Serbia everyone would be fired... I do believe Murray isn't someone that deserves a max contract (he received $208 million maximum contract extension in September 2024* he might be very hard to move because of this), Christian Braun just signed an $125 million contract (I don't think many teams in NBA would have him as a starter, let alone overpay him like this), I hate to say it - Gordon seems to be made of glass (he's always injured and even when he's available- he's dealing with something...), at this point you might have to strongly consider moving him and getting someone more reliable... even about Jokic's future there should be a discussion... IMO it's an end of the era for Denver and they should try to get as much as possible this summer and move towards a rebuild- some of this players will never have as much of value in the future (like 'Jamal Star' for example after his career year...).

That’s a really solid post-game analysis, Billy! I agree with every word! The only thing is, it’s hard to say whether Denver needs a rebuild. The Nuggets’ roster is pretty well-balanced. If Denver had faced a different team (such as Houston, Phoenix, or the Lakers), the result might have been different. As you wrote, Minnesota is simply built to play against Denver. It's okay, the loss is disappointing, but the situation is workable. There are still plenty of Playoff games ahead.

And, as a result, for the first time ever, a team that was down by 24 points in an away Playoff game managed to make a comeback. I have nothing more to add. New bet: Philadelphia 76ers on the road will not lose to Boston Celtics by more than 9 points in the 7th game of the series. To be honest, I placed a bet earlier today (before the news about Jayson Tatum’s possible injury) at odds of “1.90.” But I still suggest betting on this 9-point spread at lower odds. I see very serious problems for Boston with their centers in this series. Nikola Vucevic is absolutely useless on both defense and offense. Neemias Queta is very limited on offense. And we've seen in most games of this series that Boston simply can't reorganize itself during the game. I think this is a game with absolutely equal chances of success. Bet? Sure!

Will this be another (IMO) favorite out in R1?! PS. hopefully it will be an entertaining encounter as I'm going to watch it with a few friends and we were a bit disappointed with the latest Playoff matches/performances...

I certainly couldn’t afford to take such a big risk (since I was on a 3-game losing streak then), so I bet on odds lower than "2.00 “. And yes, I recently wrote that VJ Edgecombe had a bad series on offense against Boston, but how solidly he played in the 7th game of the series! He completely shut out Derrick White in the second half of the game, playing man-to-man defense against him. My betting score is MLB 210-196 in favor of successful, NBA 217-234 in favor of unsuccessful, NHL 10-18 in favor of unsuccessful, NFL 8-12 in favor of unsuccessful.
New bet: Cleveland Cavaliers at home will beat Toronto Raptors by 6 points or more in the 7th game of the series. The point here isn’t even that Brandon Ingram was unable to recover from the injury he suffered in the 5th game of the series, but more that RJ Barrett’s shot in overtime of the 6th game really made Cleveland angry. I think we’ll see the Cavaliers completely dominate, and the 6-point spread will be easily covered. Bet? Absolutely!
