He is the first African to ever win gold at the Olympics, congratulations to this young man, his future is bright. He has done it for Botswana, and for Africa. I'm so proud of him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the longer distance runnung has been dominated by Kenyans and Ethiopians for ages!!

Maybe he means the first 200m gold ever??

I saw this 200m race. Athletes from Jamaica and the USA were listed as favorites.
Also, this guy Letsile Tebogo won a silver medal in the team race.

It was a heroic welcome for the team Botswana, there was a celebration from the airport, all the way to the national stadium, plenty of Batswana stood on roadside celebrating, it was wonderful. On Thursday there was a special dinner for them, and a lot of donations were made for their performance.
