I am not a "petrol head" and do not usually follow motor racing. Cars are just something to get me from one place to another.

But just recently, I have taken a bit of interest in F1, thanks to New Zealander Liam Lawson. I see that Red Bull has just promoted him as Max Verstappen's teammate.

So for 2025, I will have more than a passing interest in F1, following Lawson's progress.

It has been a long time (1970's) since a New Zealander won a F1 race. That was Denny Hulme, who also won a Drivers's Championship as well.
Bruce McLaren (1960's) also won a few races.

Colapinto has shown some real speed but also some crashes. Unfortunately for him there are no seats left but maybe he can get a seat in 2026?
