Yup. And its what he always does, I dunno how its an upset if he outsmarted and out fought him and is the champ.

Saying you feel bad for weidman? He beet the champ when he does what he always does.why was anyone surprised. He always does that and weidman was the first guy to take advantage. Good win.

The reasons I feel bad for him are;

1) Silva fans will say "you didn't beat him, he beat himself".
2) Silva clearly did not respect him and give him his best defense.
3) Because of that suspicion on Silva's part, it unfairly drags Weidman into it.

He just deserved better, IMO. I think he deserved that victory, but no one wants to win by your opponent dropping his guard as if deliberately wanting to lose.

That is why, after this clear disrespect shown, I would tell Silva to go suck an egg when the subject of a rematch comes up. Matter of fact, I would not invite a rematch and give that reason as to why. Screw him, if he will not give it his all, he does not deserve to have another shot.

Weidman busted his butt for that shot at the title and for a chance to clearly prove who the best man was. Silva only gave him the shot at it.

Close to end of fighting career and paycheck from it, close to endorsements winding down and therefore paychecks from it as well, new guy with a good record but not as good as past contenders (did Silva beat someone with a better than 9-0 record? I think he has) beats him in two rounds...

Demian Maia was 12-1 before facing him, but he was a relatively late replacement in that fight and he never stood a chance against Silva in the stand up. Thales Leites was 14-1, Chris Leben was 15-1 and Rich Franklin was 22-1 before facing Silva, but we're going back to 2009 and earlier for those fights.

His more recent fights have been against guys like Stephan Bonnar (15-7 before the fight, and no title on the line), Chael Sonnen (25-10-1 before their first fight) and Yushin Okami (20-5 - fun fact, one of those 20 wins was against Silva when he got disqualified for an illegal upkick).

In fact you've got to go all the way back to 2001 and Hayato Sakurai to find someone that's come into a fight with Silva holding an unbeaten record (18-0-1 in Sakurai's case).

So purely in terms of their records yeah, Weidman probably is the "best" fighter Silva has faced in several years.

Ok, fair enough and thanks for setting me straight on that part. I feel a little better. Not a lot, but a little. At least that part makes sense and puts one hole in my suspicions. Honestly, I didn't mind the match being over in two rounds as much as the way it ended, lol.

Still, I wish to God he would have brought his "A" game and skipped the friggin Rocky 3 crap. When you get the crowd booing you in an MMA match without making an illegal upkick, you know you just royally screwed up, lol. The only thing that would have been worse would be getting inspired by Mike Tyson being there and eating the guys ear.

He didnt disrespect him anymore then anyone else. He always does that, so how did he not give it is all. And silva is my fav fighter but I know how to be unbiased. He lived so long by his dangerous sword and he finally died by the sword....

I guess that is what's most stunning to me...all that time and no one was able to take advantage and nail him until now. I wonder what took so long for it to fail? It just does not appear, on the face of it, to be a very wise strategy.
