lol. Yeah its been a world cup for drama! Quite amusing actually.

They almost denied USA again? Someone in fifa does not like USA. lol. Nice goal by the only American I knew beofre the cup started. But I really like Altidore-solid aggressive striker.

And England and USA you legends made me some ching ching today-they were the only two definites I had tonnes of cash on going into the 2nd round. Bit of a sweat from USA.

Im also convinced England can beat Germany if they played like they did against slovenia. Lampard and Rooney shoulda had goals and defoe shoulda clenched a 2nd.

Ghana are better than most people think and if they practice their shooting and finishing skill they will be a handful for USA!

I was watching the 1986 game of England vs Argentina today and I think that if England had put Barnes on earlier they coulda won it. Barnes and lineker were a potent force! And ofcourse if the ref had seen the hand ball of the coke addict!

After Germany, it's the Argies in the quarterfinal. We will sort out all the old scores before playing Brazil in the final. Beckenbauer is giving our boys some motivation - apparently we're stupid and tired, and Germany has nothing to fear from "our friends from the island". As well as confirming the German national stereotype surely he must realise that his comments will just serve to motivate the England Boys. Not so much the kaiser then but more the village dummkopf.

When a call is wrong, and this will take 15 seconds to confirm, why do they insist on making the refs wrong call stick......

Because there scared of turning football into amercian football with breaks to check instant replay ever 10sec and a 100 comercial breaks.

I can understand that. I rather have football realitvely freeflowing and have a few reffere mistakes then have them stoping play constantly.

As far as confirming national stereotypes the English media (esp. print-) have done an awesome job a single village dummkopf like old franz

(who has made some notoriously dumb comments in the past tbh) never would have managed alone.

I'm looking forward to a great game between two above average teams.

You do remember the first two England games were England didn't look impressive at all and the last two German games were they weren't really good, do you ?

Anything can happen in the 1/8 finals and even Argentina can lose on a bad day (not too likely though) so I wouldn't sell unlayed eggs yet.

I'm thinking USA has a great shot to make it to atleast the Final four, we have a beatable ghana team first round followed by the winner of South Korea/? which is also another game we can have. If we make it to the final four then it will boost the chances of the US getting the FIFA 2018/2022 bid at our home town which would be absolutely sick!

Definitely the weaker quarter of the draw. I expect Ghana to be tough and Uruguay will be favourites to beat you. But anything is possible.

2014 is in Brazil. It would be very disappointing if 2018 wasn't in Europe, expecially in a country where football is not a major sport, but FIFA is a law unto itself.

Looking forward to Brazil vs Portugal. Hopefully, it will be a fantastic game of football.

In this Queiroz era Portugal played 14 official games and only conceded 5 goals. If you include friendlies, Portugal conceded only 1 goal in the last 18 games.

Now, I don't know if this makes Portugal the best defense in the world right now, but if the comparison is with Ghana, there's no contest.
