Went to my first hockey game in 20 some years. Took in the Islanders vs Capitals last night. Although they lost 4-3 in OT it was a blast to see in person. Ovechkin scored first and everytime he steps on the ice there is an extra buzz in the air. Sometimes it seems as though these guys know what their linemate is going to do before he does it. The Verizon Center is a nice venue and even though we had seats fairly high up(section 405) we were right on the aisle with no one to block our view. Able to watch plays develop and with the Capitals it's almost always an ooh and ahh reaction. Went to the Green Turtle before the game to get primed. It's in the same building and it was a sea of red Must have been 100 people walking around with Ovechkin jerseys. A tough loss but all in all a good time. Anyone else been to a game lately?

I love going to live Hockey games...I always remember to wear a coat though because it's usually so cold! I miss going here...yes here in Birmingham, Al...it was always so much fun!

It's been many years since I went to a live game. A company I worked for used to give us Tickets once in a while.

This was back when the leafs still played at Maple Leaf Gardens...Miss those days.

Tickets are so expensive these days

Don't know much about the first two games but Ovechkin is back in the lineup for the Caps as of last night (he scored and they won...5 out of last 6 I believe). The only issue I have with this game is that they play Montreal the night before at home and the last two times they had back to back games they lost the second one after winning the first. Unless they lose to Montreal and then get fired up for the Leafs. Boy does that sound wishy washy. Sorry lab man not much help here.

boy do I feel old. Went to my first game way back in 1979. Saw Montreal play the St Louis Blues. After that I was hooked. Have been a habs fan since then...(not the greatest thing right now) could be worse though,,,,I could be a leafs fan.......... HABS ROCK!!!!!

Well I am one of the many TML fans that loves them no matter what happens.. It will be a better year for them however they are very young and inexperienced so they will not go to the playoffs this year... However if they don't next year it'll be the year after.. Once our players get a little older and more experienced... My pick for the cup this year has actually changed for the first time in a couple of years. I typically go with the Sharks however well they suck lol... So this year for the first time in 20 plus years of watching hockey I'm actually going to pick the Caps for the cup. I think they may have the best team that has been on ice in years so GO LEAFS GO..... And shhhhh don't tell anyone but go caps go shhhhhhhhhh... LOL
