I'm glad that Gerrard is coming over to the west coast so I can see him play in person a couple of times.

I think Rodgers handled the Gerrard situation terribly and was naive in signing Lambert and Balotelli to replace Suarez. Generally speaking though Liverpool's defence has actually improved this season and Crystal Palace are just very under-rated and probably the best counter-attacking team in the league. Overall, not being able to cope with Sturridge's injury and extra European games are what cost Rodgers a top 4 finish this season.

Liverpool lost a lot of pace up front with Suarez going & with Sturridge always injured, Ballotelli may have looked cheap at £16m but now looks expensive at £6m.

Tey have needed a settled back 4 for a couple of years (why did they let Agger go?) and a midfield that can pass quickly and defend solidly.

Often on Saturday (as many times i have seen them) there was just Sterling and maybe one other in the oppos half when they tried to move forward from defence.
As well as moving the ball way too slowly they had no outlet upfront and no idea on how to get there.


There is a Chuckle brothers passing disease that has enter the top teams of English football, a forever to you-to me passing that goes no where endlessly, but does make the possesion stat look good.

Rodgers is a good, but flawed manager. He creates interesting solutions to his problems, goes on good runs and then instantly abandons it all when things go wrong. He also clearly loves the smell of his own farts

It would be interesting to know just how much influence he has on transfers because Liverpool's recent record in that department is absolutely woeful

I think he deserves more time. In losing Suarez and Sturridge he's lost, what? 60 goals? To lose a player of Suarez's calibre in particular and still being not that far off a Champions League place isn't terrible.

And yes I know I've just referred to money/transfers but players like Suarez are of the level where you can't just go out and buy three or four players and it's all fine and dandy (see when Spurs lost Bale)

Spot on about Balotelli. I personally thought it was an inspired signing at that price, a talented player but one who (a) has not really fit any of the systems Rodgers has tried, (b) clearly has 'issues' when it comes to his mentality. I don't think Rodgers is the type of manager he'll ever excel under

And if I remember correctly Pool weren't keen to let Agger go, Agger wanted to back to Norway to his old club. I may be wrong on that though

Yeah they've had no real clarity to their play all season, kind of a much of muchness.

I think there is a lot to like about Liverpool. I like Emre Can although he's been a bit inconsistent, Mignolet has improved a lot the last few months, Henderson is finally fulfilling his potential and the obvious (if he stays) in Sterling and Coutinho.

All that said, if - and it's a big if - someone like Klopp or Ancelotti shows an interest in the job, I'd be seriously considering shifting Rodgers out

It wasn't naive to sign Lambert and Balotelli, it was ****ing stupid. Rodgers is absolutely clueless and speaks so much shite it's unreal. Liverpool will continue to fade off.

Thought he would have done well there a couple of years ago - but after his antics at Chelski & Real Madrid before shows him to be a little out of control at times, would Man U want that?

As for tactics, boring football, no goals, global players under performing and unsure of what to do - Man Utd or Chelski? any difference?
