That was tough game and USA defenses were solid as Russia attacked hard!!
I though Pavel datsyuk's 2nd goal was amazing![]()

I would root for the US but unfortunately, US sucks at Short Track now because Ohno retired. I am rooting for Viktor Ahn for 500m and for Russia in 3000m relay.

All the ski stuff is on old olympic style rules.
The jumpers are used to much, much larger slopes. So they all just went for distance without need for caution, or style. The slope style was so screwed up that some boarders begged off rather than risk their lives. The downhill was like a practice run with some good jumps in it.
The Russian commentators are openly insulting USA competitors. Here's a cuppla statements according to translators. And it goes on continually. "Ohhhh... heres the one with the crooked legs." "Now we must wait till the fat little boy finishes before..."
The Ruskies have gone out of their way to screw this Olympics up. Just goes to show you how effective you can be when you put your heart in it.

Some of the commentators & tons of other viewers said that it was one of the most amazing & exciting hockey games they've ever seen. I thought so as well! I mean just think about it ... a shootout that lasts a long time in an Olympic game between 2 great caliber teams! Not much is better than that IMO!
Divebitch said:How did you see it? Online? I got to see it live in its entirety on channel 220 NBCSN at like 7 AM. It was scheduled to be shown later that day at 6 PM EST, according to DirecTV anyway. The programming showed Sweden & Slo-something to be shown at. 5 PM, then the US-RUS game at 6 for 2 hours. Instead, the 1st game went til 6:30 and the 2nd game was SUI-CZE instead. Everyone had heard by then what an amazing game the US-RUS game was, and was very excited to see it, and it didn't air.
It was funny how the Sweden game (which was live after the US-RUS game gave away the spoilers, and the 2nd game SUI-CZE were talking about what an epic game in Olympic history it was, that they pre-empted. lol
EDIT: Not a huge hockey fan, but the US-RUS game, starting the 3rd quarter was the most exciting I've seen in the Olympics of any sport probably.

Maid Marian said:I remembered to watch my favorite competition...ice dancing...USA won!!! All of the top ice dancers were beautiful to watch & I would not like the job of deciding the winner! Canada won 2nd & Russia 3rd.
I can't wait till the other ice skating is shown...singles and pairs competitions. When I was younger, I skated a little, and always wished that I could go to the Olympics. But life got in the way.![]()

And a new Olympic record by Jorrit Bergsma today on 10000m.
Great work!
Suited Frenzy said:He's a BEAST! Russia went 1-2 in that event, it was intense & exciting! There are only a few events that I watch that get my heart racing like that match did.
It's funny that Russia bought both of those winners though. Ahn from South Korea & Vladimir Grigorev from Poland were both convinced by Russia to join their team.
Is Russia the new New York Yankees? HaHa
