I'm playing more and more satellites, which are great opportunities, but they take up a lot more time.

In this situation, I feel like I made a mistake. There were 53 players in the tournament and 50 got tickets, so really, apart from AA and KK, I should have folded almost everything. What do you think? I'd rather not talk about the result, it upset me :D

If I wait for the time bank and fold even from the big blind, I might still be in.

Yeah, its hard to say unless you're in the tournament and can see how quickly the players are going, some sites are on hand for hand at thi point, so not, so maybe you can timebank, and maybe you get a walk next hand and survive, or win the hand....sometimes you have to go with your gut, and make a best guess!!

On balance, I'd say that yes, maybe you can wait and cross your fingers once you are in this situation, hoping other players go out quickly!

Here, you have to think completely differently about satellites; you just have to survive them :D

Here, I was thinking that I would secure myself if I won, but in reality, the big blind would have given me anything, so I put myself in danger

In the next situation, 20 more people would have had to be eliminated, but I would have had 5BB left if I had folded, which would have gotten me there. In the best case scenario, I think a flip is to be expected, so this call is also a mistake.

With 1BB you are all in next hand any way and there is no guarantee 3 players will bust before you - in fact if they are watching tables they will see you on 1BB all in next hand so should be playing cautious, so I think get it in with a better than average hand and try to run better!

Rather than fixate on this hand where it's close, are you missing shove spots earlier in the game that will keep you with a more competitive stack? Sometimes just one well timed steal can be enough.

With 53 players remaining there will be 8 tables still to be considered and surely there are a few players in the same position as you who could be knocked out in their current hand. Even at your own table, if you fold then the 2 players next to you will be in precarious positions in the next hand. Seeing as you are in the worst position, you are taking a chance of being called, even with J3o. This is definitely a tough decision.

Think of it as if you are playing an extension to the target tournament that you are trying to qualify for. You want in for a lower price. In exchange for that lower price, your cost is your time.

Ignoring how you got to that point of 1bb near the bubble, I think you could have gotten two more hands in. Unfortunately 2 of the players that would help you get to 50 mark are at your table, but you never know if someone else might make a mistake at the higher stack levels.

I think, contrary to most, that in these spots you're going to be dead if you call. You don't have an ace and it costs anyone almost nothing to call you, especially at the blinds, as you saw and it's going to happen. Here you're trying to grind through to the 50th place and the way to do it is just to use your time bank and just hope someone else makes a mistake or you luck out once the blinds take the last of your stack.

I had 11,578 chips, the big blind was 8,000, and I could have played any two more hands.

Yes, I would have had a better chance before that, but I thought we were sure to get in, so I didn't play. It was a bad decision.

Yes, I knew there was no fold equity, and in BB's place I would have call with anything, and even with that many chips I was at 43 if I remember correctly, so patience would have been the right decision here.

Yes, these are good ideas, and this way I can participate in bigger tournaments with less risk and play more freely.

In this tournament, the biggest bounty was $10,000, and I was excited after every knockout, but unfortunately, it didn't happen :)

I gave up the game early on, thinking I was already in, and just threw my cards away.

You're going to be dead if you call, yes, I like that :D, I completely agree, it's the same as in Bounty tournaments, in situations like this they'll call with anything, and there too I try to say all-in Ax in situations like this.

Its probably kind of close, since 3 more players need to bust, and you will be forced all-in 2 hands from now. It might be one, where you want to check, what going on at other tables before making your decision. Its also a situation, where if you decide to play, you want to stall as much as possible. Which mean running down the clock and then only limp - not jam - so that you get some more time before having to put in your last 2.778 chips.

Yes, that's a good idea, it might have been enough to get me in. Time is key in these situations, so I'll play that way next time!

When playing satties you want to pull up the other shortie tables and use that to know if you can actually fold here and BB and have a shot at the seat. Most often players with larger stacks make huge mistakes taking risks at this stage. If a number of your V are doing that then yes fold and try to outlast others. We may also win our BB or SB hand giving us several more hands for others to bust.
It is not a large mistake to go with this hand however.
