One of the most powerfull strategies in poker is slowplaying. By not taking any aggressive action until the river, you disguise the strength of your hand and deny your opponent the chance to fold.

I'm not happy with the fact that the opponent is constantly using seconds to create a certain action of his own... This really annoys me!

Villain was the one trapping and slow-played himself to death.

If he had jammed would you have called off A5s after raising over his limp?

Probably not since a limp-reraise is typically such a strong line. But it would be close due to pot odds.

It’s exactly because of situations like this that I don’t slow play anymore; I try to make a strong value bet and take down a smaller pot instead.

I’m sure to raise on the flop ,There could be a lot of draws on the flop —JJ or 88 would beat here, but with 66, you might not necessarily raise preflop.

He fell into his own trap.

For anyone actually trying to learn from this, the board gets progressively worse for the AA, and yet the player still punts their stack on the river. Flushes, full houses, three of a kind, are all on the board. Nothing worse will call. It's not a profitable play.
