In that spot, I’d lean toward folding, mainly because of the ICM pressure with only five spots until the money and me sitting in 4th place. Even though AQs is strong, calling and losing could cripple my stack and take away a great chance at a deep run. Unless I had a solid read that the BTN was shoving super light, I’d rather preserve my position, pick better spots, and pressure shorter stacks instead of risking it all before the bubble.airwalker said:The hand happened in last night's CardsChat freeroll. There were 20 players left, and 15 players were getting paid. I was in 4th place. From the UTG+1 position, I raised 2.1 BB, and the player on the BTN went all-in. If you were me, would you fold or call?

I would call. Your opponent is Brazilian. Brazilians play “Ax” very, very often. You have a strong enough hand to take the risk. It is important to consider how your opponent played before this hand, but overall, I would be willing to take the risk with this hand.airwalker said:The hand happened in last night's CardsChat freeroll. I don't think you played wrong. Your chances were about the same. You just had bad luck. If you fold hands like that, there's no point in playing poker, especially in freerolls.airwalker said:Unfortunately, I played badly and called. Fortunately, this happened in a freeroll, so I didn’t get penalized much.

Don’t forget that hero is also from Brazil. Are you saying that Brazilians never fold? 😂😤Rost said:I would call. Your opponent is Brazilian. Brazilians play “Ax” very, very often. Call was fine you lost a flip--- the BTN range is wide enough for a call most often.airwalker said:The hand happened in last night's CardsChat freeroll. Arguable; you're putting in 32k to win 79k (roughly), and you have 46% equity, so the call is about +4000 ChipEV after conditioning on the opponent's hand.airwalker said:Unfortunately, I played badly and called. Fortunately, this happened in a freeroll, so I didn’t get penalized much.
