Lows are counted from the high card down.... you have 8432A, the 76542 hand is lower👍

Even though the rest of your cards seem like a better low unfortunately the 8 begins the card countdown and 7 is lower than 8 so it loses but if you both had a 7 4 3 2 A would beat 7 6 5 4 2 because 4 is lower than 6 and so on. I hope I didnt make it more confusing? GL

One tip is to count your low hand like a 5 digit number and don't focus on your low cards on their own (which in your case look "great" but don't make the best low) - this will force you to count the cards in your low hand from high to low (and not the other way round which is incorrect).

So think what "number" you have.. 84,321

What is best villain can have with his up cards? 76,4xx

So he can have a hand that beats you (if he can make a low with cards under the 7).

in this case he made 76,542 as he had a 5 and a 2 hidden.

As others have pointed out, you have 8 high, the winning hand is 7 high. To have four cards to a wheel and a low looks great but unfortunately the highest card counts.

Damn, I've been playing this for a long time and I never knew that. Always thought it was from the lowest up.
You learn something new everyday playing poker.
Thank you all.
