This is for heads up poker. I've noticed how valuable a check raise is lately. It's a good way to call out a bluffy opponent. Sadly, so are open raises. Both draw fold equity. In what situations should I check raise vs just raise. This is less in relation to value, and more calling bluffs postflop.

I like check raising on paired boards, this looks strong and if they don't have trips they will fold.

In HU always check raise more than you would open raising. In these situations, check raising will always look weaker which can increase your bluffs rather than open raising and him being a calling station.

If he has a a stack bigger than yours, I think you can try a blef
even if you are in bad situation because he s gonna be afraid to
see his stack disapear. Or If I think my cards are better than hin, I raise
till he give up.

check raising should be done when the opponent reads you as loose.

Never ever try this when you are read as tight because the opponent will never fall for it and is only going to call you with nuts.

I just check-raise only if I have at least
a good game in the flop
wondering that my oponent thinks that
I have the best hand on the table...

You are right about one thing though, CR is very powerful headsup if your opponent is becoming LAG-sided.

I think the problem with the check raise here, is that you give a free card, if your opponent decides to check after you. I don't like giving too many free cards, because stuff happens.

If you flop a monster and your opponent also flops 2nd best monster the chck raise does not help you so much.

scenario 1)You check ,they raise, you over the top and they possibly fold.
scenario 2)You bet, they flat call, you shove the turn they call
scenario 3) You bet, they go over the top , you insta call.

In my opinion 2 and 3 are better options than #1.

If you have three times the amount of your opponent, lifting most of the time may result, since the villain would not risk even on many occasions due to his fear of leaving.
