After demonstrating some bluffing moves, I would like my colleagues to discuss the moves. It will be a good review.

Exemple #1

🃏 Example 1 — Classic bluff with scare card

📍 Situation
You are on the button with Q♠ J♠
Everyone folds to you → you raise
Big blind calls

📊 Flop: 7♦ 4♣ 2♠ (dry board)
The villain checks
You make a c-bet

➡️ Why?

This flop connects with almost nothing, so you represent overpairs or strong Ax.

In this example there is a bluffing element to the C-bet, as we might get KX and perhaps even AX to fold. But we might also get a few worse hands to call like 65 or 53. And we deny equity, when worse hands like J high or T high fold. Plus we keep control of the hand, unless we get raised, which allow us to take a free card on the turn and see all 5 cards before making a decision on the river.

We can also pick up equity on a spade, and if we turn a Q or J, we will usually have the best hand, which we can then bet for value. Or we can use certain cards like an A or K to barrel again and get some weak pairs to fold. So betting this flop, which I agree is the right decision, serve a variety of purposes other than just purely bluffing.

Nice try, but Button vs. BB is a wide vs. wide setup, both players have all weak combos in their hand 53, 77, 44, 22, 56, even 74 and 72 may be in the calling range off BB, also any A2, A4, A7
It is a natural bluff but should be played carefully.

And here a nice Flopzilla calculation with your medium broadway suited connector against all the shit in BB`s range.
88 combos that are way ahead you nead a J or a Q or somthing that will improve your hand extremely.

Your well-founded and thoughtful analysis is very valuable. The interesting thing is that the intervals at the ends of the table are indeed wider, but depending on the table, this is generally confirmed most of the time.

You explained the situation well and carefully considered the breadth of the results. The interesting thing is that we have to think about all of this in a fraction of a second.

🃏 Example 2 — Semi-bluff that can turn into a strong hand

📍 Situation
  • You have A♣ 5♣
  • You raise in the cutoff, button calls

📊 Flop: K♣ 8♣ 3♦
  • You have a flush draw.
  • You bet.

➡️ This is a semi-bluff:
  • you can win now
  • or hit a flush later.

📊 Turn: T♠
  • You bet again.

➡️ Still representing a strong Kx or overpair.

📊 River: 2♦ (you didn't hit)
  • You bet strong (or overbet)

➡️ Why bluff?
  • You block the flush of clubs (you have A♣)
  • Your line represents strong K or even a set

✅ Summary:
Even without hitting, you used:

  • equity (draw)
  • blocker (A♣)
  • consistency

🃏 Example 3 — Bluffing on the river after showing weakness
📍 Situation
  • You have 9♠ 10♠
  • You raise on the button, BB calls
📊 Flop: K♦ 6♣ 2♥
  • Villain checks
  • You check back
➡️ You show weakness.
📊 Turn: Q♠
  • Villain checks
  • You check
➡️ Pot control / still nothing
📊 River: A♥
  • Villain checks
  • You bet big
➡️ This is a great bluff because:
  • Ace is a scare card
  • You can represent AK, AQ, AJ
  • Villain showed weakness on all 3 streets
✅ Summary:
You won the pot without betting before, exploiting weakness.

Here are a few simple bluff spots in MTTs:

1. C-bet bluff: You raise preflop, miss the flop, but still bet on dry boards (like A-7-2).

2. Continuation barrel: Fire turn/river on scare cards (like an Ace or flush card) to apply pressure.

3. Steal blinds: Raise from late position when everyone folds — very common and effective.

4. Bubble pressure: Bluff more when players are trying to survive and avoid busting.

5. Check-raise bluff: On certain boards, represent strong hands and force folds.

🧠 Example 4 — Representing a straight

📍 Situation
You have 8♦ 9♦
Raise from the button, BB calls
📊 Flop: J♠ 10♣ 2♦
You bet (c-bet)

➡️ Represents Jx or an overpair
📊 Turn: Q♥
You bet again

➡️ Now you represent:
straight (AK)
two pair (QJ)
📊 River: K♣
You bet aggressively

➡️ Now the straight is complete (A-K)
Even without having it, your betting line tells that story.

✅ Summary:
You used the board’s development to represent the nuts.

5. Blefe de check-raise: Em certos boards, representa mãos fortes e força folds.
Great tips. Thanks for the help.

One. bluffing move I have seen fairly often in the CardsChat free rolls is the all in pre flop....I witnessed recently a player who jammed all in pre flop repeatedly and of course he was never called...I finally got a decent hand AJ and called hie 11th all in. guess what he had pocket kings. duh. As a bluff tactic the all in does have certain dangers.

I've also seen plays like this before. But it's a long-term mistake, because the player has a very strong hand and turns it into a bluff. A good player wouldn't pay an all-in like that, and a bad player could pay and hit another hand. A bluff like that is dangerous.
