Honestly, are pocket Aces or Kings a source of stress or happiness?

Recently in a tournament, I was sitting on an average stack. I picked up pocket Aces — I was thrilled. A guy made a big raise, I shoved all-in… and boom, he flopped a set of Queens. Out of the tournament.
Statistically, Aces are a huge favorite. But once you’re all-in, especially multi-way, anything can happen. That’s poker.

You are right. I used to get thrilled, like my life was in game at that specific point in time, that no mistake should be done.

And...I learnt, it's just another ordinary hand with better odds. And contrastingly enough, I've just learned in a book that, you want action with aces, you'd rather put players into the hand than shoving preflop.

I'm always glad to see Aces and Kings but I take your point, there can be a "wrong" time to get them in a tournament and you might just need to let them go...

Always love them, but there are times where I cant stop losing with them!

Two Things

-Ace and King Pockets are most stronger when you are short stack, cause you need only a high card, deep stack you need play more connectors or AXs to make Flush, you earn more chips with these cards than high pockets.

-Avoid All In with large stack or next to Final Table/Prize Pool, on these step, you need play tight.

Most of the time, they’re a source of happiness. But like any other hand, they can lose on a bad board.

What’s really frustrating is losing all in preflop with them against very weak hands. It doesn’t happen that often, but it can happen, and when it does, I definitely feel tilted even though I know I shouldn’t. It’s annoying to see opponents play poorly and still win the hand.

But after that frustration, you just have to move on, because that’s poker.

If I can get aces and kings plenty ..life is pretty good ..you won't win with them all the time but I'd take it and smile 😁
