Something I’ve been paying more attention to in tournaments is table position and how much it affects decision making. Being on the button or in late position often feels like a big advantage, especially when trying to steal blinds or control the pot.

On the other hand, playing from early position can feel much more restrictive since you have to act first and worry about players behind you. In tournaments where the blinds keep increasing, these small advantages can add up.

How much do you factor position into your tournament strategy, especially during the middle stages of an event?

I play more hands and try to be aggressive in late position, while staying tighter and cautious in early position.

Position is the whole game in NLHE.

I try to tell people - having the last say in poker gives huge power to extract chips from your opponents or bluff them into folding.

Chips flow clockwise around the table....but you want them to stay with you!

You might enjoy....

Good luck !

through all stages but at some point, when stacks are shallow and it's more about resteals, ICM pressure, etc. then it can be less significant.

No matter which stage, tournament or cash game. Position matters in NLHE.

A lot, it can determine a lot. Early on you have to wait for all players to make a move late you know what your working with.. I think this is a very underrated part of poker especially online

Table position is one of the most important factors in MTT success.
Being in late position lets you see others act first and control the pot.
You can play more hands, steal blinds, and apply pressure effectively. Early position requires tighter ranges and more caution.
Over time, good position play significantly increases your win rate.
