Hi :)

I have a little tip I'd like to share, in regards to preventing MTT tilt.

-Make sure you have at least 2 different accounts on various sites.

-Treat each account like its own person.

-Just use one at a time and try to build up the bankroll!

-When you start running bad on one account, switch to the other one!

This seems simple, but it really works well. :)

That is all. :)

Are you sure? I have two accounts only and they both kick the sh*t out my serenity sometimes lol

but yeah, my 2 cents:

- If you work and you are stressed at work, do not play poker. It will worsen things.

Well, at least for me. The past 3 weeks have been terrible at work, a lot of pressure and stress. I noticed how much that affected my patience while playing and even worse, creating sort of a feeling of entitlement. Wanting to get a stack quickly and having difficulty to keep the necessary concentration during the game.

So, avoid tilt by avoiding playing while tilted is my opinion. But I've seen pro players giving the complete opposite advice (if you get a bad and feel tilted, swallow your tears and keep concentration and playing).

The mental game is, play comfortable, concentrated and with strategy. No bad beat, suckout or maniac play will tilt you because you know you understood the play and played it to your best.

but well, I'm not a pro and that sh*t is too difficult to maintain. lol lol

You can't have two at the same site, but you can always have an account at multiple different sites.

I understood as having accounts in different sites, not having two accounts in the same site which is not allowed. I have one account on ACR and another on PSMI and I tilt no matter which one I use :D

At least 2 accounts on various sites...meaning not multi-accounting on 1 site, but doing it legally. ;)

Most of the players have several accounts in different poker rooms, but this does not save them from bankruptcy !!! I believe that a player should focus not on the number of rooms, but on the quality of the game and the correct attitude to his bankroll !!! In fact, your second account is just an increased bankroll !!!

You are correct, most players will lose no matter what they do. I believe it's roughly 80% for MTT play, last time I tried to research it. ;)

Never thought of this as an alternative, even if it is simply a mental trick to "switch up" your psyche if you feel like you're "running bad" on one site. Just like others mentioned of switching the activity doing if you're mentally not straight for poker, this suggestion would be an alternative.

Yep, sometimes a change is as good as a rest. For me, just changing the table theme or colour can work.

Or even just change games. If MTTs have been going poorly for a while, then maybe switch to SnGs. Or if 6-max cash games have been going poorly, switch to 9-max cash games.

I have two tips for you. First, listen to music you like. That makes you happy and calms you down. Second, think of situations where you've been lucky. For example, I once went all in with JJ and ran against KK. But the third J came on the flop and I won. I think of such moments when I have to take bad beats.

Yes! These are both great.

I think we need to focus more on when we "get lucky" vs when we get sucked out on. :)

Great point!

I understand what you are saying, from the comments i see some people have misunderstood :)
Me too i play on multiple accounts, of course on different sites.
Unfortunately, this tactic does not work for me. For me, loss is loss, no matter that other site I'll win back.
I consider each one to be my own, as do you, therefore, the loss is very frustrating.
My tactic is not to take poker too seriously

You do not have to be mental to avoid tilt but it helps.
Reading good threads like this or playing music while playing and just thinking about it properly and calmly helps too.:thrasher:

The more you play

The best way to have a mental edge over tilt is to have it happen to you over and over 😂 sounds easy right … hear me out you see the more hands you end up playing in life the more chances suck outs happen and you go on tilt. It’s how you handle each suck out everytime because the ones who take it with a grain of salt and know it’s “just poker” will end up becoming a better player and wiser. Honestly, if you’ve have played for 10 years and still get so upset and mad about being sucked out on maybe poker isn’t for you 😂 don’t be a mush 😂

Doesn't matter how many accounts you have. The game remains the same.

Only on different rooms you need to do this. Both accounts will be identified and blocked on the same casino site. Then it will be very difficult to prove that this is for an experiment.

From my (limited) knowledge - you can have one account per skin. So BetOnline and SportsBetting are two different skins on the same network. You can have one account per skin - but these are on the same poker network. On BoL I'm theANMATOR and on SB I'm theANMATOR_2.

Same with other networks that have multiple skins but are on the same network.

BlackChipPoker is on the same network as ACR.

Just make sure you don't run these at the same time - actually - you can't because if you log into one - it will log you out of the other.

I like it. A change of scenery tends to do the trick for me as well. Although sometimes that’s not even enough which is when I try to step away from poker for a day or two (or at least end the session early)!
