6-max tables are more dynamic and you have to make more difficult decisions both pre-flop and post-flop. Reading your opponents and being able to adapt play a more important role here. On 9-max tables, you can safely play on the charts, collecting money from weak players, without worrying about the pressure of the blinds.

I like 6 man more because there fast and dont take forever. Its a lil tougher to play multiple tables because of the quick action compared to 9s that take a long time. Good luck.

I prefer full ring(9-max), just because I have more experience and know more theory about ranges and situations. When I play 6-max - I have much less knowledge about opponents hand ranges and it give me trouble. IMHO in microlimits 6-max much less predictable than 9-max.

I prefer 9 handed over 6 max. While I have played 6 max I just prefer a 9 handed table.

Generally I find myself at 6max tables, and lately I've played more on zoom than anything else.

With 9 max the blinds take 3 players longer to come back to me, which I like, especially when blinds get bigger. 6 Max is great because there are three less hands that can beat me. I think that I prefer 6 max for ring games and 9 max for tournaments.:icon_sant:icon_sant:icon_sant

I play both obviously (CC league) :D but I do prefer 6 max, even if 9-max is less variance, with 6-max you can play more loose, you can learn to know who you are playing against a little better, and if you learn to play like in final tables hehe.

9 max cash tables by far. 6 max is way too hectic and aggro for me. I'm a shark at 9 max...a fish at 6 max...it's amazing how different the game is.

6max cause you're encouraged to play more hands allowing others to make more mistakes, I'm just not a big fan of the rake, it'll eat you alive long term if you're not running or playing well.

I like 6max , but
I feel 9max it is far harder for people to be able to read your plays being your not forced to play hands as often -
tourneys is what i am referring to .

6 max is more dinamic and interesting, there is more games also. I guess 9max exist only in lowstakes and anyway you have to transfer to 6max.

Is it just me, or does anyone else remember days when it used to be 10-max?

6max is better. Why because it plays more players. More players more fish.

Do you prefer 9-max NL or 6-max and why?

I used to always be partial to 9-max because that's what I cut my teeth on in live games and home games when I started playing 23 years ago. But over the last couple of years, I have really enjoyed the 6-max tables as well. I like the faster paced action and to me it feels a little more like poker was meant to be. When you see poker in the old westerns, you don't see 9 or 10 cowboys around a poker table. You'd see 4-6 players around a table in the saloon, and as silly as it might seem, I just feel like that's the way poker was meant to be. I still will play a full ring game when I go out to the casinos, but I just really think 6-max is a much purer form of the game.

So if given the choice, are you going 9-max or 6-max online?
I don't know about cowboys , but in modern poker mostly play 6 max, as it is a more dynamic game!

I prefer to play 9 player tables because I mostly play tournaments and feel more comfortable with a full ring table. If you plan to play more hands or high stakes games. I would go with 6 player tables.

If I'm playing one or two tables, I prefer 6-max which requires a lot more maneuvering and playing the players. If I'm playing four tables, I prefer 9-max which requires playing by the book for the most part.
