6max NL holdem, i think that is more easy to adjust AND get more value from your opponents:)

I used to like to play 6max on the contrary, when I was playing at the same table, I also liked the game going faster because there are fewer players at the table. But after I started playing at four or more tables at the same time, I switched to 9max. If I play so many 6max tables at the same time, I just won't have time to think and make the right decisions. And what I like about 9max tables is that when I have a good hand like AA or KK and I raise or 3bet preflop, there is a greater likelihood that someone will call my raise or 3bet, because there are more players than at tables 6max.

I actually like both. 6max is because you can play more cards and develop a strategy more easily. 9max because I like to play with a lot of players on a table and there's a lot more to win. :)

Do you prefer 9-max NL or 6-max and why?

I used to always be partial to 9-max because that's what I cut my teeth on in live games and home games when I started playing 23 years ago. But over the last couple of years, I have really enjoyed the 6-max tables as well. I like the faster paced action and to me it feels a little more like poker was meant to be. When you see poker in the old westerns, you don't see 9 or 10 cowboys around a poker table. You'd see 4-6 players around a table in the saloon, and as silly as it might seem, I just feel like that's the way poker was meant to be. I still will play a full ring game when I go out to the casinos, but I just really think 6-max is a much purer form of the game.

So if given the choice, are you going 9-max or 6-max online?

I'm with you all the way Deuce!

I built up my bankroll playing full ring games both live and online... but once I switched to shorthanded games it was so much more fun. So many more close spots, more opportunity to play in position, and in general a better fish:reg ratio on the tables.

Shorthanded poker definitely feels more like 'poker' with players being forced to get in there with weaker holdings and play them for a profit. Full ring allows for a lot more patience of making the big hand and getting paid off.

Being rather risk averse I was certainly more partial to full ring games in the beginning, but ever since I became comfortable with 6-max games I fell in love with them and think this is what I'll be playing as much of as possible moving forward :)

Thanks for posing the question!

Before you go to the world of 6-max tables, you need to hone your 9-max game skills. Once you have mastered the basics of this game, you can move on to the short tables. When playing on short tables, correct aggression is important, based on a large number of poker factors – time, the ability to correctly guess the range, etc.

I like 6-max more than the full ring. It is a fast pace game and I have to adjust slightly compared to full ring.

I think that 9 max is too arbitrary. I don't like 9 max. Your strong preflop hand will lose its strength if the entire table is in the hand.

In fact, I don't care. I'm still a rather weak player and it's hard for me to understand

I always prefer 6- max! Both game modes are good. I think in 9- max the variance is less, but I love 6- max

I like 9max when I'm just hanging out, and not in any kind of "rush." I like 6max because I see A LOT more hands and feel like I make money a lot quicker.

i like more 9 max than 6max , but 6max is the format most players like and play , I have to adapt , there is the money . The bad thing for me is that on 6max the ranges are different , a lot more action , not to mention the great frequency of bluffs , especially if the spot weaknesses on your game preflop or postflop and they tag you for a nit or a scared money player .

I always play 9-max but recently had the privilege of playing 6-max! and I was pleasantly surprised: fast, fun game! all as I love! there is no way to play such tournaments yet (does not allow bankroll)
