I lost almost $200 of my bankroll that I had slowly been building up. The majority of money lost was playing cash tables. I had an amazing total of over 20 bad beats. 5 forced all-in's with me holding pocket aces pre-flop. It was almost like the odds were stacked against me and I always had the best hand going in before the flop. AK beat aces. AJ beat aces. Pocket 9's beat aces. Pocket 3's beat aces, and A4 suited beat aces with 4 of a kind. I know pocket aces don't always win, but that really ruined my statistics for that pair. It was almost if someone shoves and I have aces, then I should just go ahead and fold. Guess I just had an off day, but really stung me. Guess I will have to keep playing the freerolls and start building back up with smaller stakes.

Thank you for posting.

Ouch that was brutal.

Variance can be so much worse than most players have experienced unfortunately you now now how bad it can be.

I do not know what your poker goals are but taking too much time to build a bankroll is a real issue. You may consider other ways of generating a bankroll using the time you would have used to play freerolls.

Hope this helps

Wow. "Brutal" may actually be an understatement.

Generating a bankroll.

This is my fun account that has been only funded by winning freerolls and small tourneys. I look at the time I spend purely as means of entertainment. I used to play live tourneys and cash games all the time for larger profit, but due to COVID have really cut back. This provides me a way to keep up on the game and use my brain in various situations. Thanks for your input. Hope to see you guys on the ACR tables soon!

I just lost two big pots set over set and then big PP lost to a smaller PP in a short amount of time. I quit for the day and probably will take a few days off to reset until I feel mentally refreshed.

That's nothing compared to the run you had. In my experience, when luck goes bad it tends to keep going, so the only way to stop it is to quit.

Sooner or later, it affects you mentally and that's when you are in deep trouble.

Point well taken.

Yeah, I should have taken a 3 day break like you said after the 1st two bad beats. Its hard to quit when the following hands were AA and such. Gets the mind working in overdrive thinking that one can make up money based on odds. Guess it was a lesson I learned for the online game. Take a break and try the tables later. Thanks for the input! Hoping to see you on the tables for some good fun.

Usually if I run bad I just take a break. I don't think I ever tilt but if I run bad and lose a buying here and there I just don't enjoy the game. If I still wanna play I reg 2-3 1$ tournament and play for fun.
