However in my early poker days I read a lot of Harrington who advocated not betting medium strength hands on the river and just check calling when offered decent odds or where there is a decent chance they might be bluffing. As such bet folding here is against what I have been doing on the river for some years now. It does feel conservative to do this and as a result I have recently been going for more thin value on the river but his raise on the turn would put me off betting the river in this hand.
