Everyone has a different reason for entering an online casino — some for the atmosphere, some for relaxation, others for the thrill of the moment.
What pulls you in the most? What makes you hit “play”? Let’s talk.
Don’t lie — you can always tell when someone says they play “just because they’re bored.
What actually fires you up when you enter an online casino? Is it the vibe? The adrenaline? The curiosity? Or are you just checking if “today’s your day”?
Come on, be honest. No judgment here. I’m actually curious who’s got the most genuine story.
I'm not sure if you're able to understand what the reason(s) are for many people who play poker & I'm only saying this because of how you've worded your questions here... like we're lying in our responses if it doesn't fall under the parameters you've set out.
Often times, especially later at night, (like RIGHT NOW)
I play because I'm bored. I open up 4 tables of lower stakes zoom-style cash tables while I read the news, while I watch a twitch streamer & while I respond to this very thread. During these times I'll usually play at a couple buyin levels below my usual stakes for this type of game online (but not always... 'it depends').
I don't need to get 'fired up' to play poker although it helps if I'm able to meditate for a bit and work at getting in the mental zone. It is probably my biggest leak because a lot of the time I do exactly what I'm doing right now, multi-table some lower stakes games where I don't need to think as much while still able to profit from it.
I don't believe in the 'today's your day' type of thinking either. I go in with the thinking that I will be trying to make the best decisions possible in each given situation and that's it. Try to maintain my focus and keep making those 'best decisions' no matter how the cards fall, or which donkey gets lucky.
It does help me to read your post and the responses in this thread because I tend to think that the majority think similarly to how I am thinking about the game (I know that there are literally THOUSANDS of players who do ) but it reminds me that lots of people aren't thinking this way.
Initially my motivation for opening up an online casino was to try to get better at the game of poker and to compete with other people from all over the world. Learning and getting better were my main objectives and it is what motivated me to play so often.
Tomorrow what will fire me up? Maybe a couple of cups of coffee after I take the dog for a walk and then do meal preparation for the day. I'm trying to transition to playing tournaments which means I'll be handcuffed to my computer desk for 8hrs. so I'll need to have a couple meals made in advance.
Yay.

LFG!
