I'm sure that you can see how they would consider poker, as gambling, and if your parents were anything like mine, there is nothing that you will be able to do to change their minds.  NOTHING.  So just accept it, and turn it into a poker lesson.  If you can learn to control your emotions, and be disciplined enough  to listen to your mom and dad, they are teaching you how to handle one of the hardest things to over come in this game.  They are teaching you how to handle tilt.  If you take the time to go through CC, how many times is there someone asking how to deal with tilt?  Your parents are teaching you the most valuable poker lesson, by temporarily taking it away from you.

If you are going to be a poker player, there is nothing that your parents will be able to do to sop it.  Deep down inside they know that.  So give them a break, and let them be mom and dad for a couple more years.  Later on down the road, I'm sure you'll look back at this and get a good laugh, about the time you asked for advice from a bunch of degenerates. lol
