A name for yourself and respect are two of the most important, and to do either you have to invest time. You cannot realistically expect to buy a few books by successful players and just immediately jump in the deep water. You will invariably run into a few sharks that will leave you busted out every single time. Assuming the most honest part of your story was that you want to learn poker, then welcome aboard. Become a student of the game and not simply a player. Don't try to pull the wool on this group of people, because it often doesn't work. Just be yourself (whomever that is) and be prepared for a long arduous journey if you really are commited to the goals you have set here.
