I was at Harrah's in Atlantic City today to watch my friend Bart compete in the $1,000+$80 WSOP Circuit Event (he finished 58th out of 207). But while we were there WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel was announcing the final table of the $500 event that began yesterday. I had a chance to talk to Jack briefly about the 2007 WSOP Schedule which hasn't been release yet, but will be soon. He said it will be out very soon and had gone to the Players Board and the Regional President for a vote. He said there are 3 schedules they are presently looking at, a 55 event, 58 event, and 64 event schedule. He said some of the players are balking at giving away more bracelets for fear that it would devalue the bracelets won in previous years. He also said there will be alot more $1,000 bracelet events this year, and they won't all be No Limit. He said that there will be a Stud H/L, Limit, and Short Handed event for people who couldn't quite afford the higher buy ins. He also mentioned that there will be a S.H.O.E. event. And that the higher buy in events like the $5,000 events will be spread out so they don't overlap (something the pros requested). I'm kicking myself now for forgetting to ask him if there would be a Match Play (Heads Up) bracelet. But I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
