4NL or NL4

I have just noticed that in a recent thread the OP referred to NL10 and NL4 and I replied using the terms 10NL and 4NL

Is there an accepted convention on this terminology and where/when does it stop referring to cents and start to mean dollars?

I always say 4nl etc but I've seen both. Think of it as always in dollars and as the value of 100 bbs.

I say it the opposite way haha. I'm not sure which is right. People say both. Either is fine I guess basically.
