Day 2 Randomness I am now going to have a Q & A / Factoid section in the second part of my updates / blog here. This is to field questions and maybe just respond to some of the readers. If you have any questions I will answer any and all of them. Q & A / Factoid Section Q: Do you really think you can make it? A: I do believe in myself to complete this challenge. I believe I have the skills necessary as well as the time and patience to pull this off. If I didn't I would have set the bar lower. Now would I be surprised if I didn't pull this off. Not in the slightest. I set the bar in such a way that it was very difficult to pull off. Thus the term "challenge". Q: What is your motivation for doing such a challenge? A: I want to show the world that anybody can fulfill their dreams. I know it is corny but really that is my main ambition in trying my hand at this. Q: Can you play the new depositor freerolls? No, I cannot. These freerolls are for new depositors and I, unfortunatley, am an old depositor. But, I expect that people who were then new depositors would have an advantage over me. Q: Good motivation, I just don't think this will be possible in 2 months. If it were even close, I would just keep my mouth shut....didn't it take Chris Ferguson, a pro player, like a year? I appreciate all comments even ones like this one. Chris Ferguson took 15 months to complete his challenge which was start from 0$ and reach 10,000$. And while it is debatable that C. Ferg is a much better player then me ;) there are many advantages I have over him in this challenge. One, was that he started from 0 and and worked his way up while I started from 8$. Another is that he took 7 months just to stabilize his bankroll at 6.50$ while I have already far surpassed that mark and my bankroll is stable. Another advantage is that C. Ferg only had so much time to play between his pro activities and while I have obligations as well (school, family, friends) I do have considerably more time to spend on this adventure. The only two advantages I can think that he had over me are experience and the benefit of a larger site. Q: You are not going to make it.... how about a prop bet? A: I am still debating taking prop bets at this time. I will let you know in the next couple days for sure. I just know I am going to get a lot of action if I start prop bets. Q: Will you switch sites to play more tables? A: I am not planning to do so at this time but it is something I will consider in the near future if I stand to gain a lot. My reasoning is that not everyone has the luxury of switching sites like that (I know from past experience) Q: Will you do some video? A: I will be trying to set this up when I reach some of the bigger tables. Probably some time next week. I would do it sooner but I have to set up a mic and I have to go digging :) Q: What else are you planning to do with this challenge? A: I am going to start opening up this blog to more places. Right now I am blogging on three forums and some blogging spots that aren't really all that popular. I am going to open up to more forums probably including big ones like 2 + 2 and Rounders Radio. Hopefully by tomorrow. ------------------------------------- Favorite Hands of Day 2 1. Yours Truly 2 Outer - Bad Beat against a friend I really don't know what prompted me to think she was screwing with me but this is once instance where I made a really bad read but got paid off anyway. The only reason I had made this call was because I saw her make some incredible bluffs earlier which set me up for this. You hate to see this happen as a skill player but I couldn't mind the extra 4$ could I? She was really cool about it since she seemed to like me so much. Fish Sucks out on Yours Truly Since I showed one of my two outers I thought it only prudent that I show a two outer hit against me to even the odds (mwuahhahahah). This hand also shows again how many fish play at these tables and how soft they really are. Correction - Bigger Pot I have to correct an earlier statement that the biggest pot I made was in the 4 - 5$ range since I foudn two instances where the pot was bigger then that. My actual largest pot of the day was 7.43$. This one though is the second biggest pot of the day clocking in at 6.56$. It really shows how much hands like suited connectors and low pocket pairs can win big when hit. It also shows how you should bet a lot more if you want to protect your hadn preflop and not overplay your hand afterwards like some animal that lives in an aquarium setting.
