These players seem to play better hands and know how to play a bit better but they still love to bet with nothing if you let em. During the later part of the day I ended up unlocking my first promotion for 20$ and after a great day of poker I am up to 87.08$ which is a little more then 45$ up from where I started. [B][U]Poker Lesson of the Day - Moving up In Stakes[/U][/B] As I learned the other day and have learned in the past moving up a level in stakes can be a daunting task. The money is larger, the players not only play better but differently altogether, the timing is different, etc. Many of the elements that make up any one poker game change but more so when you move in stakes. One of many things you can do to minimize the risk is tighten up your play. Do not change your play completely as if you are a winning player there is no need to get away from your winning play. But, folding a hand pre-flop that is on the edge or bluffing a bit less will often prove fruitful in learning the new stakes that you are playing at. This will not only minimize the risk as far as how many chips you are putting in the middle but also gives you a bit more time to look at the other players at your table. Some of the questions you might ask yourself are; How is the play different from the previous stakes? How will I have to adjust my play to maximize profit? Which of these players are loose and which are tight? Tightening play for the first time you play on a new level is often a very good idea. [/QUOTE]
