A couple of realizations.

Hey, I did the inevitable and tried to move up in limits recently on Pokerstars. I realized while playing that on nearly every table the only players present were multi-tabling regulars who played the classic extremely tight game and trying to make money from anyone's mistakes was like pulling teeth.

This is only 1/2$ limit mind you so I can't figure out what all this nonsense is about more fish online. This has not been my experience. Has anyone else had this experience? If so how do you combat it?

instead of 1/2 you need to try .01/.02 and then you will find the fish

Not sure where you heard that there were more fish online? On the cash tables you'll typically find alot of multi-tabling regs. (as you seem to have already discovered).

Definitely more fish/gamblers in the casinos. You can't even really compare limits straight across. IMO, 3/6 LHE in the casino plays about the same as .25/.50 (or lower) online.

That being said, just because players are tight, doesn't mean they are necessarily very good. Just "good" compared to the uber donator fish

I agree just because someone plays really tight poker doesn't mean they are a good player. Anyone can sit around and wait for aces.

The abundance of online fish information, I got mostly from what I've been reading online and in books. What I was doing for a long time and returned to doing was actively jumping from table to table where the "loose" action was. This works fine at most levels.

May I ask how everyone here does in this environment? I win more than I lose but it' s a real long slow uphill climb. Any recommendations? I use to play some tournaments online but I find they take a long time.
