Is this a good structure for a live game?

It's not a huge deal since the game I play this structure is a freeroll, but was just curious if this is the norm in live play

Starting stack=7k Each level=25mins

200/400
400/800
800/1600
1600/3200

Never played the game past that level, but I have won the tourney 3 times Its usually at least an easy 10 dollars for me, but wins are worth 40 lol

25 min levels = bs, cant play poker with those levels especially when they start so high

2nd leve blinds = if you get no cards in first 25 minutes, you suddenly have an m of just over 10 just as the 2nd level starts. Tourny sounds like a crap shoot, get lucky early or go home mentallity

those levels just increase way to fast,i mean- double the previous level is just sick
and i agree with switch, the starting levels are very high compared to stack size

For comparison, I deal a game regularly with the following structure:

Starting stacks: 20K. Unlimited rebuys in the first hour, and one 10K add-on at the first break

First hour (20 minute levels)
100-200 / 200-400 / 300-600

Second hour (15 minute levels)
500-1000 / 1000-2000 / 2000-4000 / 3000-6000

Third hour (10 minute levels)
5000-10000 / 10000-20000 / 20000-40000 and so until it tops out at 100K-200K

That's set up to go for about two and a half to three hours (it has to be, because the bar has to close some time).

We do another one where we have 6K starting stacks and 10-minute levels (increments as above, finishing at 2000-4000) that's designed to get an entire table down to just two finalists inside an hour.

Yours sounds somewhere in the middle - depending on the number of players I'd guess it takes a couple of hours to finish up?

25 minute levels aren't rare live: in fact, outside of the extra-expensive tournaments, they're actually pretty generous. Everyday casino tournaments are often run with 15 or 20 minute levels, 1500 starting stacks and 25-50 blinds.

Just depends on the crowd on a night. The biggest I've played in(and I won this night lol) was about 30 people, so we were running 3 tables and took about 3 and a half hours. The norm for this tourney is about 12 to 16 players, and normally takes about 2 to to and a half hours to complete. Pretty easy money though lol, a lot of the players are first timers and people that have been drinking too much lol
