All-in before river: Does everybody show cards?

I have seen this done both ways live. But if every player who is in a hand is all-in before the river is dealt, should all players then flip their cards up before the dealer deals the river? Does the rule differ between tourney and cash games?

In tourney its a must, in cash its sometimes optional but some casino's probably make it mandatory. I always flip if its allin pre river but sometimes with a delay if its a homegame or local pub game where there is options to run-it twice possibly on the table.

On pokersites I think it should always be flipped but have seen cases where in cash games i guess there is an option to not flip the cards....not sure if those hold for tournies anywhere.

This is totally dependent on the casino. Tournaments are always, but for cash a lot of rooms have their own rules and some of them can be weird.

I like to have my cards flipped over in cash as well as my opponents. Its almost a slowroll when people don't flip them and nail the river then flip them.

I wish it was mandatory like tourneys.

It's optional in cash games but in my opinion it's better for all players if you do show

As above - generally speaking it's optional in cash games but mandatory in tournaments.

Personally I'm OK with it being optional in cash games. What irritates me is when both players have elected not to show their cards, then it comes time for someone to claim the pot and they get into a protracted "what have you got, no what have you got, you show, no you show first..." argument and hold the game up unnecessarily.

The one who bet should show it first.

it's optional for cash games, don't see the point though just ruins the suspense, just flip the god damn cards over I say..

No, actually the first person playing after the Dealer has to flip first.

Only if I have to. Even if you flopped the nuts no reason to show... if the worst bad beat happens you can still hide valuable bet patterning info and maybe tells from the table.

I never turn my cards up before showdown.

Sometimes you'll do it and the other guy won't, then he mucks and you don't know what he had. So I just don't ever do it, I wait for the board to run out, then table my hand if it's on me.

Going back I see some discussion on who has to show first and it's whoever was the last to bet or raise. Whoever made the call doesn't have to turn over their hand before the other guy
