Great question. I have not personally played with them, would love to. At my local casino in northern Michigan, we have a pro who frequents the high stakes games in the summer and fall - Michael Banducci. He lives in my area, or at least his parents do. He's a really nice guy, I've had several conversations with him and I'm the only one (I'm a female - that's probably why) he allows to come over and touch him to "grab some of his good luck" when he's running good - which is everytime he's there. He's a great cash player. Fearless. He'll come and ask me if it worked, if I'm running better and if so ask for his 20% commission as a joke. LOL. We had Phil Laak at our casino 2x (1st time was Feb of 08) but I had to work (new job, couldn't get the time off) and then the 2nd time was Nov. 15th 2008. Where I live Nov. 15th is opening day of firearm deer season - Phil Laak is not a hunter - I am. I went hunting, I havent' missed an opening day ever since I was 12 so I wasn't going to start now. Stories are Phil Laak was a very nice guy who played at the cash tables the whole weekend, bought rounds of drinks for the tables, he even played the $1/$2 table with a max buy in of $200 for 8 hours with the locals. Very cool. They had a tourney in his honor, only a $150 buy in, a friend of mine (Joe) took first for $14K. My grandpa was a poker pro - rarely ever played tournaments - did cash. Not one any of you will have heard of, but if you're interested in his name it's William "Bill" Pollitt. I've only ever found one article on him when I googled his name. He passed away a few years back, I have some of his poker stuff, his wife (no not my grandma, 3rd wife) took most his stuff and claimed she didn't know where it was (bitch). He played with a lot of other pros, and played with Doyle Brunson often in the "old days". He spoke very highly of Doyle and said in one of the rare tourneys that he did that Doyle led the room in a standing ovation when he was knocked out and told everyone in the room that he hoped to be as good a player as my grandfather was when Doyle got to his age. That was my grandpa's fondest memory.
