you have to be concerned about the ediquette, you are probably not in a comfort zone unless you've had a few ... and having a few can produce mixed results
 
there are distractions ... hot chicks, booze, noise, hot chicks (oh had that already)
 
while the play is overall of lesser quality ... if you are playing cash, then it is tough when you realize a few people at the table simply have more money in life than you do ... yes, that may mean they are more likely to part with it, but when somebody comes over the top of you like his chips are play money ... it's pretty tough to stay cool
 
tourney is a little better, because you've already spent the money, now you are just simply trying to play the best poker you know to get it back ... as somebody else suggested ... play like Dan Harrington ... it's harder to make plays live unless you play live regularly ... not saying never do it ... the old play the player, but be careful ... you might even give tells while making plays
