Bad Beats

Why does it always seem that right before I make the money in a tourney I flop the best hand i'm gonna get and it never holds up???

As Oz suggests - selective recall.

There is also a huge difference between simply getting 'beat' and a 'BAD beat'. If you flopped a boat and get beat by quads, that's a BAD beat. If you flop TPTK and villain draws a straight, you just got 'beat'.

Try posting a few hand histories for analysis ...

because thats a bad beat lol , but stick to it im pretty sure u have bad beated the other person , i know i have many times , thats just poker nothing is as it seems . any cards can , all u can do is get ur money in with the best hand

Yeahh It sucks when I get a bad beat before I cash.
I came in 38 out of 2700 earlier (i think top 27 cash) and was soooo mad when I lost to a bad beat!

you have to try and get your money in with the best hand and realize that the best pre-flop hand does not always win otherwise their would be no community cards.... bad beats happen and that was truly selective memory because i am sure you do not start threads about the people you laid a beat on around the bubble

I can tell you about a bad beat that I had. I had ( J 8 ) offsuit in my hand....the flop comes and it's ( J 8 8 ). ......Totally awesome. I flopped the fullhouse. I coherse someone to follow me in and they do follow....lol

They had ( JJ ).....oops !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how is that a bad beat? you were never winning in the hand, you just got beat lol

much like a time i had 10 10 and the flop was 10 5 5, the other guy had pocket 5s for quads, ya the beat was rough but i only had the 2nd nuts at this time and he had the nuts, so it's not a bad beat.

That's nothing compared to what this guy who posted on another forum a while ago. He had something like 99 flopped a full house. He lost to Ax!!!

That's the ultimate bad beat!! He flopped a full house and lost to a kicker!!!!
