One thing I wonder if he touches on is frustration. For instance, I have made it to the final 2 tables of 6 out of 10 MTTs in AC. I only made one final table out of the 6 and finished in 9th. The other times I lost AA vs J2o (trip 2s on the river), 77 vs A4o (A on the river), AJo vs 22, 77 vs A7o (flush on the river), A8 vs A10 (I flopped a straight and lost to a river flush). It's tough to feel like you've played well, gone deep many times, and come home empty handed. 
 
These were all buy ins that I could afford so that impact on me is low, but to think that if I dodge a river even one of those times, I'd have had enough chips to go even deeper in the tourney or possibly win. 
 
It's hard to have a positive outlook when you continually get beat.
