Luck is the same for everyone, even if it sometimes doesn't seem like it.
 
It's variance. Something that you must come to terms with if you ever
hope to be successful at the game.
 
Make the correct decision for each situation you are faced with. Nothing
else matters.
 
If you're 'taking breaks', it's because you a) are probably not as good as
you think you are and are getting frustrated because you are losing (this is the choice most applicable to me) or b) have not yet come to terms with variance or c) all of the above.
 
It's probable that it's choice c. The normal variance of a deck of cards in poker can lead to some horrifying dry spells even if you play well. Add in just a touch of poor decision making and now that variance, if things go poorly, can lead to a death spiral of losing.
 
Take a break, sure. Nothing wrong with that. 
 
Use the time to improve your game, and learn a little more about variance and how to handle it.
