One additional thing to note is that some sites also have a minimum amount wagered or hands played/points accumulated rule.  I know that 888poker does, as I won some money in a private freeroll a while back and tried to cash out after having made a minimum deposit and they said I had to have wagered at least $150 or so before I could cash out.
