If you answer,please answer in regards to early,middle,and late positions! O.K. How big of a raise would you call to try and hit trips on the flop, river and turn? I know if you hit there is potential for a huge payoff! But fishing for them could be costly as well! An example: I had pocket 7's in late position and had an early positioner raise 4 times the big blind with a caller in mid position! I know I was priced in to call, but had called several hands already tonight with pocket pairs to no avail! I guess I was gun shy to do it again!
i know there are further problems with chasing on the river and turn! I hardly ever hit trips after I miss on the flop. Now, if they both check on the flop I would certainly see a free card or make a continuation bet to take the pot. But,here again, that is risky when the cards on the flop will most likely be higher than my pocket pair!
I know I'm rambling but there are a lot of factors and it is difficult to decide what to do and I know every situation is different. I would just like some of your thoughts to help me through this!!
