Sign Pisani after doing nothing in the regular season and 'reward the hometown boy' with a big contract, but Ryan Smyth has to take a home town discount because he has bled copper and blue for the past 12 seasons?  Smyth should have been signed last summer before either one of those two douche bags got contracts and now we let him walk away for what?  Prospects?  O'Marra is barely a point/game guy in Junior,  Nilsson can't put up a point a game in the AHL - how how are these guys going to help the team?  We have enough 3rd line crash and bang style players - we need to retain our superstars.  What's next, trade Hemsky and Stoll to the Flames for a second round pick in 2010?  We may as well.  We didn't get anything back for Smyth.  Why not address our blueline problem if nothing else?  Some defense prospects should have been the only thing Lowe was looking for - how many more small fast forwards with bad hands do we need?  We can fill our own AHL team with those type of players.
